My style as an Integrative Psychotherapist is to work with a client using a relational foundation. I am drawn to existential and humanistic theories rooted in the empathetic relationship between therapist and client. I will offer my reflections and not remain silent. All humans can feel unsettled when our basic needs are threatened or unmet, and we sometimes wonder, ‘why am I here?’
I consider psychodynamic, object relations and attachment styles when assessing clients. I am trained in noticing the body, how clients hold themselves and their breathing patterns.
I am neurodivergent with an ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and passionate about working with neurodiverse clients. I have lived experience of grief and recovery from addiction. I work with trauma, addiction, grief, anxiety and depression and many other human conditions.
Sessions are always 50 minutes long and will be at the same time and place each week. I work from home in St Leonards or online, with in-person sessions coming soon to London.
Fees are payable in advance or on the day, and I have a 48-hour cancellation policy; otherwise, you will be charged for the session. Fees are £70 per session.
I am BACP (MBACP 388927) and UKCP (2011171748) registered, and work within the BACP & UKCP ethical frameworks. See https://www.bacp.co.uk/ or https://www.psychotherapy.org.uk/ for more information.

Hello! My name is Gemma (she/her and questioning) and I’m a Minster trained therapist working with individual adults, in person and online. I am based in Hackney, London E8.
I work with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress, loneliness and loss. I believe we all deserve an opportunity to be fully listened to and taken seriously by someone who can non-judgmentally help to make sense of our thoughts, feelings, behaviour and experiences. I am convinced that with this assistance we have capacity to heal, transform and grow, even from the toughest life experiences.
At the heart of my practice is the conviction that we heal through relationships, and specifically through the relationship we will develop with one another. My approach is collaborative, respectful and down to earth and my aim is to provide a supportive, creative and confidential space where we can explore who you are in the context of your distinctive personal world, and the issues that bring you to therapy. I am interested in how our lives – our relationships, self-image and self-beliefs – are shaped by our past experiences and our cultures. I will help you to make the changes that you hope for, by re-connecting you with your feelings, your deepest needs and your desires.
I’ve found that clients generally get the most out of working on an open ended basis, or for a minimum of 12 weeks. I am a fully supervised accredited member of UKCP and abide by their code of professional ethics. I am also a member of The Relational School (TRS)
If you want to know more, drop me an email to arrange a free 20-minute phone conversation. After that we can meet for an introductory session to see whether we might like to work together. Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £70 per session.

Anxious, low or struggling with a relationship? No matter what may be troubling you, I create a warm welcoming space where no subject is off-limits. Together we can explore your experiences, and how the different parts of your life are impacting you. Through our work, I aim to support you to develop a new understanding of yourself. I will be alongside you every step of the way, as you discover inner strengths and resources to overcome your difficulties. Therapy can be a life changing experience.
As an integrative therapist I am able to draw on several therapeutic approaches to tailor our work so it is geared to support you. I have over seven years of experience of working with clients in a variety of settings including the NHS, the voluntary sector, as well as in my private practice.
My qualification is a five-year UKCP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am an Accredited Member of the UKCP and a Registered Member of the BACP and abide by their ethical frameworks. In addition, I have undertaken specialist training in Couples/Relationship Therapy, and Bereavement Therapy.
I charge £80 for 50 minute sessions.
Practice description – My practice is between Queens Park and Kensal Rise. I work face-to-face and online (Zoom).
First session – Starting therapy can be daunting, especially if you are coming for the first time. You may not even know where to begin. It’s my job to make it easy for you to open up, by asking questions about your life and what you want to get out of therapy. The pace of the work will always be guided by you, so it is manageable. In this first session I will encourage you to ask me questions about the work.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor registered with the BACP and completed my training at The Minster Centre where I am currently completing an MA/Advanced Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Minster Centre, accredited by Middlsex university. Everyone has a story and as a therapist I want to hear yours. The therapeutic space is an excellent opportunity to give a full background of who you are and your experiences. Though no one can tell you exactly what your therapy process will look like, we will establish clear boundaries and goals for your therapy and the steps you will take to be able to explore your feelings and experiences in a professional, confidential, space.
You can expect that as a therapist I will support you while listening attentively and will model a healthy and positive relationship experience. I will give you feedback and follow ethical guidelines. Therapy should be tailored to you and your experiences.

I am a Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg.), EMDR Therapist, Supervisor, and Lecturer. I specialise in working with psychological trauma, and am undertaking a Doctorate in Psychotherapy, with my research focusing on working with trauma. I also work across the spectrum of psychological presentations and distress including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, transitions, and those with histories of abuse or neglect. I am experienced in working with psychological and mental health issues in the workplace, both on a therapeutic and one-to-one basis, as well as with groups and training programmes.
I work integratively, which means that I combine ways of working from different theoretical approaches and schools of thought in order to best meet a client’s changing needs as we progress together through therapy. I will always work with you, as a client, according to what best meets your needs at a given time, rather than working to make someone fit to a particular theory or way of working. I offer short, time-limited, and long term therapy, working either towards specific goals and objectives or in a more open and exploratory way, or through a combination of both approaches.

I aim to create a space that fosters exploration and creativity. In my approach I focus on the issues you present, but we invariably also explore the underlying unconscious processes. When going through an emotionally challenging time, it is useful to experience a relationship, such as the one I provide, where unspoken thoughts and feelings can find uncensored expression.
I abide by the UKCP ethical code of confidentiality.
In my approach I integrate psychodynamic, contemporary relational and humanistic/existential theories and approaches. I also work with the body and the arts.
I offer short-term (DIT) and long-term work. It is useful to arrange a regular time and day. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
