We are seeking additional training supervisors to work with Minster Centre supervision groups. We have the following posts:

• Supervisors to be added to a list of suitable supervisors to work on any of our professional courses. Supervision groups meet weekly in term time (mostly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.) We also have vacancies for Bank supervisors to cover staff absences.

Supervision is currently being delivered in person at the Minster Centre. A willingness to work on Zoom is desirable, in case of needing to work remotely during any periods of greater Covid risks.

Requirements for the post holder are:
• UKCP HIPC Recognised Training Supervisor or equivalent.
• A strong commitment to increasing equality, diversity and inclusivity (EDI) in the counselling and psychotherapy professions (see below).
• Extensive experience of work as a supervisor, ideally with trainee psychotherapists and counsellors
• Preferably previous experience of work in a training capacity and of student assessment.

The Minster Centre has made a commitment to working to increase EDI in counselling and psychotherapy. We think of this in terms of increasing the diversity of members of the profession, increasing the accessibility and suitability of counselling and psychotherapy for all communities and identities, making our training more accessible and relevant to trainees from all backgrounds and identities, and equipping the therapists we train to work in a diverse society. As an experiential training and one that seeks to work at depth this is important work that leads us to question, sometimes radically, our assumptions as therapists and trainers and to explore and challenge our own identities. If you join us as a supervisor or tutor this will be challenging work. You will be invited to join us in additional training, reflection and supervision of supervision groups as part of this work.

For more information about our trainings (including dates for the ACP weekends) please see our website www.minstercentre.ac.uk/training/courses/

This post is being advertised internally and externally.

We particularly welcome applications from people from underrepresented groups in the field of psychotherapy and counselling and in our organisation, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, the LGBT+ community, care leavers, disabled people and people from other minorities.

Please review whether you currently have any Minster Centre students as clients and on which course and let us know if this is the case so that we can manage any potential dual relationships.
